Graduation exhibition for the Vancouver Island School of Art’s first graduates from the 3-year Diploma of Fine Arts program. The Shelter Project by Rebekah Johnson was in the main gallery and Arcade by Marlene Bouchard is in a space that normally functions as the janitor’s closet.

ACCENTUATE
An new Victoria art collective known as MMBB will showcase a utopian version of the
Slide Room Gallery as an ultimate modern cultural landmark within the larger urban context of the city of Victoria. They use the concept of the condominium showroom as a model for their ‘display’.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION
Sylvia Bews-Wright, Maggie Cole, Wren Katzalay, Cheryl Taves (Making a Mark Collective) worked on a drawing collaboration using the Slide Room Gallery as a studio space. Viewers were able to see the work transform over the period of the exhibition as well as go into the space and ask questions.
